Final Round of National Cat Global Operator Challenge
The Cat Global Operator Challenge competition hosted by PT Trakindo Utama (Trakindo) has entered the national final round. Eight finalists from regions all over Indonesia are ready to face the next challenge which was held at Trakindo Training Center, Cileungsi. The competition at this level will determine three best heavy equipment operators to represent Indonesia in the next round, the regional final which will be held in Japan on November 2019.
Rozy Andrianto, Division Head Construction Industry Marketing Trakindo explained, “The preliminary rounds of Cat Global Operator Challenge Competition have successfully held in 4 regions: Banjarmasin, Makassar, Yogyakarta, and Palembang, with more than 70 heavy equipment operator participants. The contestants participating today are all winners, but we are looking for the best of the best to represent Indonesia.”
In this competition, various new challenges have been prepared to prove the participants’ best performance. Heavy equipment operators’ skills were challenged in the fields of accuracy, agility, mental toughness, flexibility, and ability to utilize integrated technology features to improve performance by using various types of Cat machines, while maintaining the work safety aspects.
In respond to the opportunities for Indonesian participant to win the world-level competition, Rozy emphasized, “The wide range of Indonesian industries have made our operators to have high capabilities and able to adapt to various field condition in solving challenges. We are optimistic that the national winners today can obtain more achievement in the next level; upholding Indonesia’s name in heavy equipment operator industry in Asia, furthermore the world.”
This competition is a part of the Cat Global Operator Challenge event that is conducted by Caterpillar in the global scale. Contestants succeeding the regional final will join the global final which will be held in Conexpo-Con/Agg, Las Vegas, USA, in March 2020. The grand prize as well as appreciation for the winners will be a free VIP trip to their choice of Caterpillar facility site.
The Cat Global Operator Challenge event in Indonesia is a form of Trakindo's continuous commitment to support the improvement of Indonesia’s heavy equipment operators. “Operator is one of the most important elements of success in industry that involves heavy equipment. The more reliable an operator in operating the machine, the greater their impact towards work productivity improvement. Thus, through this competition, we hope that we can encourage our country’s best operators to continuously improving their quality and abilities in operating heavy equipment machines, and work productivity,” Rozy concluded.
